Navin, Now you are putting words in my mouth. 'specific to' and 'widely accepted' are much different. My examples pertain to a hope that a (self-identified)sub-culture of American Society accepts self-criticism on an issue the rest of society finds unacceptable. In this case dogfighting. Self correcting. Laughable? uh, ha ha. So anyway, this would be people within a group correcting and shaming the behavior of those within the same group so as to change said behavior...My examples speak for themselves, I'd love to see in dogfighting. Ha ha. So you looked up racism in the dictionary and saw Chief Osceola? Damn Florida alums!...it was supposed to be Tebow!

I wish I had the link to that graph that correlates the rise in number of pirates to global warming over time to show Navin. Has anybody made an argument that torture is part of white government elite culture? (whatever that is btw) Is there some underground Chicagoist culture that tries to outdo whatever poor argument was made the day before?

Why is it racist to assume that blacks should shame the individual thugs that practice dog fighting, and that in our society it is an idiosyncrasy of black culture? If Blacks are shamed by Whites, its racism. Blacks have been and do indentify their experience with a culture seperate from mainstream America. And do we see many other instances of dog fighting amoung Latinos, Asians, Pacific Islanders? No you dont, sounds like its a pretty good idea to have some accountability from within. And do whites self correct when their own do something stupid? Yes. The civil rights act is one example. Trent Lott and John Rocker are also examples of self (and externally) shamed idiots. Go look up racism in the dictionary.

Actually no gator hater, I was simply replying to the racist assumption that it's the duty of all blacks to shame individual thugs because that's somehow an indictment on black culture. Of course the reverse isn't true, nobody disparages "white culture" as a whole when somebody white does something stupid. It's bullshit and racist but you knew that, it's why you Ward and Jimbo can't come up with a coherent argument other than what basically translates to: Shut up! Dude's like stupid! Black people! Navin, The white government comment is an obvious deflection. The Black sub-culture in our society that supports this activity needs to stand up and be shamed. No, 'but the white man did this/that/whatever' this time. Be shamed and cease this ugly practice. We can have a discussion about the Bush Administration and torture on another message board. As to 'just sayin,' people are up in arms about this b/c by and large they see animals as helpless and innocent, and enemy combatants (assuming they really are...again different discussion), have a hard time appearing innocent and without self-determination. I'd delve into this further, but I think all you wanted to say was that white parts of our gov't (not the black, latino, etc.) are racist.

Since my comment was the jumping-off point regarding dogfighting=enemy combatant torture, I should further clarify. If you recall during the Michael Vick case, there were people saying (IIRC, perhaps even in the comments on this site...) that dogfighting was ingrained into black culture. I find those who excuse violent behavior nearly as disgusting as those who are violent. That applies whether they inhabit the White House or a house in Englewood.

Ward, "Finds some way" in other words commenting on somebody's actual comments complaining about black culture because there are some black people in the world who fight dogs. Meanwhile torture of human beings is sanctioned by your government, yet nobody calls for public hangings etc. I don't expect any kind of substantial reply from you as usual. There is something seriously wrong with a culture that considers something like this entertainment. And yet Americans as a mass doesn't go tear down the doors of The White House when they find out their leaders are torturing *human beings* as state policy. I'm glad the penalties are so severe for this kind of thing. Attending, much less organzing, and event like this shows zero empathy for living things. Hopefully the judge will show as much empathy to them as they did to their dogs.

I don't know who is worse, the sick people who runs these operations or the disgusting people who fork out 5 dollars for this "entertainment." There is something seriously wrong with a culture that considers something like this entertainment.
