SNL, which has had record ratings this fall by regurgitating Palin’s interviews virtually verbatim is continuing the political story lines by focusing on the transition. Last night, they portrayed Rahm Emanuel and his infamous mouth. Funny stuff.

Ari Gold from Entourage is only half-based on Ari Emanuel -- the other half is based on another Hollywood agent, the same guy who won the World Series of Poker Main Event a couple of years ago, Jamie Gold. That's why the character's name is Ari Gold.
not so sure about the Jamie Gold aspect to the above post...
from the wikipedia page
"Inspiration
Ari's character is based on the real-life Hollywood superagent Ari Emanuel[4], who broke away from mega-agency ICM to form the Endeavor Talent Agency, which represents such stars as Vin Diesel and Larry David, both of whom are represented on the show by the fictional Ari Gold. Likewise, both Emanuel and Gold represent series producer, Mark Wahlberg, upon whose experiences in Hollywood the series is loosely based. Ari Emanuel also once represented Jeremy Piven himself, and in an interview on the special features of the season 2 DVD, Entourage creator Doug Ellin says that the real life Ari demanded the part be cast to Piven and wouldn't accept anyone else to play him. Real-life "Ari Gold" produced the CD of one of Adrian Grenier's (actor who portrays Vincent Chase) bands, The Honey Brothers, in 2003[5]."
no mention of Jamie Gold
Just an FYI, this sketch was not on the broadcast Saturday.
"Record ratings" for SNL. In other words SNL sucked alot, and not their usual complete suck job!
