I hope that the cab driver who cut me off today joins the strike. The roads will be a little bit safer.

A strike should be used when working conditions are deteriorating, not getting better. Gas prices have dropped, so the surcharge is gone. It's at worst a neutral development for cabbies, and could be positive if gas prices stay low for a couple of months. The surcharge will be back around April or May when gas goes up again.

It would also be awesome if the city mandated that if they struck, they would have to drive homeless people around for a day, free of charge of course.

It would be awesome if the city said "you strike and the fare increase is off the table."
