Live Nation and Blockbuster Drag Us Back In Time?

At first we barely paid attention to the news that Live Nation had joined forces with Blockbuster as their exclusive physical ticket outlet ... until a friend pointed out this phrase:

The selected Blockbuster stores will offer exclusive blocks of tickets available during the first four hours of ticket sales, as well as general ticketing as long as supplies last. Blockbuster will be responsible for managing and operating all aspects of the ticket transactional experience.

So does that mean we're back to the days of lining up in front of stores and getting wristbands for ticket lotteries? On one hand we admit we feel slightly nostalgic about camping out for decent seats to see Rush when we were hormone-fueled adolescents, but we also remember how many weirdo the scalpers would put in line to buy up blocks of tickets. Plus, dude, we've just gotten too old for this shit. We don't even really miss having to make phone calls either, we'd rather just sit in front of our computer hitting "refresh."

What's "Blockbuster"? Is that like NetFlix or something?

Sweet! I'm camping out for Klatuu tickets as we speak!

remember blockbuster music? they used to do that there. i bought del amitri tickets at the double door that way.

there's something to be said for people who are willing to put forth some effort being rewarded for doing so ....

They have closed so many physical Blockbuster stores that this move seems sort of odd for Live Nation.
