Given the Bears' putrid showing against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night, it was easy to overlook the fact that yesterday was the 23rd anniversary of the second greatest moment in Chicago Bears history: the filming of the famous "Super Bowl Shuffle" video. Coincidentally, the Bears filmed the video the day after a loss on national television: in this case, a loss to the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football, the only loss the eventual Super Bowl Champion Bears would suffer all season. Not even Kanye, Lupe, or the genius Lil Wayne could write a rhyme like, "I'm the punky QB, known as McMahon/ When I hit the turf, I've got no plan/ I just throw my body all over the field/ I can't dance, but I can throw the pill."
Also, the thing is seven freaking minutes long.

Stroger Makes Hollywood Play

i believe this was shot at the park west. also, as is sort of evident now, mcmahon wasn't at the shoot and i think someone else wasn't, either ... payton? they're superimposed on the rest of the "shufflin' crew." i love that they're not the bears, they're now a shufflin' crew.
weird. i'm a packer fan, so i think it's hilarious that bears fans still live in the world of 1985.
Such polite shufflers.
And yeah, McMahon and Payton: very badly superimposed. That bugged the crap out of me back when I was 18, too.
I've never been a fan of football in general, but this brings me back to grade school and the fact that everyone (but me) wore their jerseys to class for at least a month afterwards.
And yes... Bears fans still stand by this song. I have at least two friends who walked in to their wedding receptions with this song in the background.
