Gingerbread Mies
While we're still working on our gingerbread doublewide trailer with a gravel driveway made of sprinkles, Fruit Roll-ups and pretzel sticks carport, Hot Wheels cars on sugar cube blocks and a snack cracker outhouse, we wanted to share with you this item from yesterday's New York Times Sunday Magazine.
Manhattan-based April Reed Cake Design spent 25 hours designing and building a scale model replica of Mies van der Rohe's Farnsworth House in suburban Plano. The Reed interpretation is listing at $4320, 15 percent of which will go to help offset costs of repair to Farnsworth House suffered in the September flooding.
