Just a thought, it's a bit confusing to describe the conspiracy theories as "real."

I read Chicagoist for stories directly related to Chicago. This story does not focus on Mr. Obama's Chicago connections and, in my opinion, does not belong here.

9. Real. This one's tricky, though: Obama responded to the controversy by saying he doesn't place his hand over his heart during the National Anthem, but U.S. Law says you have to.

Not to start nothin', but isn't there a difference between custom dictating this is what should be done versus a law saying it must be done?

Beyond the ridiculousness of codifying such a thing, I have almost never put my hand on my heart during the national anthem and simply stand quietly during that and the pledge (call me a godless Commie if you must, though that would be wildly inaccurate). And yet, I remain unarrested.
