Here's what a few other outlets are saying.

- The Windy Citizen has a real-time page tracking Blagojevich tweets.
- TWC also has this brilliant Word Cloud of the complaint.
- USA Today reports Sen. Durbin as requesting the state legislature to call a special election so that voters can elect Obama's replacement. Can we vote on Ryan's commutation to, Senator?

"While this investigation is still ongoing, our state cannot afford to remain engulfed in this unfolding scandal. Our government's ability to deal on a daily basis with the fiscal and economic crises we currently face demands leadership and integrity. Our governor cannot provide either, and he needs to do what's right for the people of Illinois."

Gawker did some leg work and seems to think U.S. Senate candidate five is State Rep. Art Turner.

Does Mike Madigan do Twitter? Because I'm sure all of his messages for the last two or three hours have been "OMFG! ROTFLMAO!!!"
We sure know how to pick 'em! Wonder if Blago will be Ryan's cellmate?
Barter, Anyone?

And the funny/weird/sad part is Blago used Topinka's "close" association with Ryan and his corruption to defeat her...
She's probably smoking a victory cigar and planning her campaign right now...
@Stealth no kidding!
I don't think we have a Democratic Party or a Republican Party. Ryan, Blagojevich, and for that matter, Topinka all belong to the same geed and power seeking class no matter their political labels.
Don't think Topinka was corrupt? Look into her distribution of state funds to banks under her run as Treasurer. It was effectively deposits for contributions to her Governor's race campaign. Every bank awarded deposits of state funds ironically met or exceeded the $50,000 level in contributions to the Topinka campaign or the Illinois Republican Party.
The incestuous lot needs to be turned out...no matter their political affiliation.
Bulldog... agreed. Now where do you get an "honest" candidate? Do you really think the next person(s) to run for governor here will have NO affiliation with anyone currently in state government. Where will you get this "clean" person to run? Who is it? The usual suspects are already calling in their favors to run and the "clean" candidates don't want the aggravation.
Valid points Stealth. Who in their right mind would want to get involved in that mess. I was really surprised at the charges though. You gotta give blago credit though, if he was gonna screw up, he was gonna do it in a big way. If all of this is true, he is in some really deep shit.
I wonder when durbin is going to request his pardon...you know, all the stress on his lovely bride and the kids....
