Amazing speculation this morning on Fox News that Rahm Emanuel may have been involved in going to the Feds about Blago's attempt to buy Obama's U.S. Senate seat. Like all speculation, we have to take it with a grain of salt, but this does bare watching, especially with the scrutiny that will follow on Obama's relationship with Blago. [via Think Progress]
Update: We've left a message with Rahm's press secretary at his DC office, but haven't heard anything back yet.

I will buy Emanuel a very nice bottle of wine if this is true.
Good on Rahm.
This doesn't say much about the effectiveness of the FBI or the Federal Prosecutor's office if it took them until 12/5/08 and a tip from the Chief of Staff of the President-elect of the United States for them to get a break in a corruption investigation against Blago.
Now the Bulldog's choice for Senate (Val Jarrett) will never get the nod she deserved. She would have been a great Senator.
I wonder if Jesse Jackson Jr's name will come up during this. If that happens, then I'm sure we'll hear from JJ and Al Sharpton.
They should give Blago some justice: http://tinyurl.com/58e8y7I wonder if Jesse Jackson Jr's name will come up during this.
I doubt it. Emil Jones maybe, but not JJJ.
So, do you think the seat of GOV will open up, or Lt. Gov and Quinn takes over?
Remember that show "Newsradio"? God, I miss Phil Harmann. Every so often his character would find something truly amusing and simply say "Delicious"
DELICIOUS.
I'm personally inclined to believe Rahmbo did nail Blago, probably just on the off chance that doing so would earn him a few minutes alone in an interrogation room with him. And a phone book. And a garden hose.
It's all happening too fast!....WEll, at least for us. I'm sure this is all going in slowmotion for Blago.
LOL.
Did I mention he's my "boss"?
As of this afternoon, where is Blago? Is he in custody?
I don't understand the legalities of continuing your job as governor of a state if one is under arrest. How does he get to keep
being the governor if he's been arrested?
Quinn will take over.
Oh, Rahm, as if I needed another reason to adore all 5'5" of you...
He's basically a kick-ass little ninja in a Brooks Brothers suit.
How many times did Quinn mention "prayers" during his press conference this afternoon?
Well, I have asked the Flying Spaghetti Monster for mercy and guidance during this troubled time.
PS
Good one Albanyparkour !
Who won the Blago death pool? Anyone?
