Man... I've never really liked the guy and always knew he was a shadeball, but this is so absolutely out of hand. Is there any way he thought he would possibly get away with this? I mean I'm half expecting him to go to court today and be like, "Surprise! I was joking, you don't think I'm that big of an idiot do you?" But alas... I just hope that this begins a new era in Illinois politics. Their corruption and greed have nearly bankrupted the city at this point, to where they are selling it off piece by piece. First parking, next roads? CTA? A little corruption here and there I can handle, I do know I live in Chicago, but this unfortunately shows the whole country, if not world, how bad it's gotten. As much as I hate it, you know a-holes are going to be talking about how Obama came from this same political machine so he must be just as corrupt. This whole thing is so redonkulous. Arg!

I suspect you're right, matilda, though such facets of reality have no bearing on the mind of Blagojevich. He can no longer sell the seat, he still thinks he's God and can beat this, so he'll take a shot at it.

Interesting that Fitzgerald mentions wire taps and *bugs*. Bugs is a really big deal as they will record conversations with the really juicy stuff. Of coure Blago sounds like a moron and may have shot his mouth off over the phone.
