Good riddance to a bad president, one who abandoned or ignored Republican principles and carried out a dumb invasion.

Hey, maybe this project COULD be non-partisan.

Well, the site apparently doesn't accept two middle fingers offered at once, but, in the spirit of good cheer and surrealism, I will offer at least four good things Bush has done, things I hope Obama continues:

1. AIDS-related funding and other funding to Africa, even with the right-wing focus on abstinence, which I think borders on a bad joke.
2. Moving closer to India, a democratic state that can act as a counterweight to China and, indirectly, Russia and perhaps Iran. He did so while not pissing off Pakistan overly much, though I am sure circumstances will change that. I don't care. Long term, the US is better off with India than Pakistan. (I still have concerns about the nuclear deal offered to India, but that's the price you pay sometimes in geopolitics.)
3. Tried to fashion a moderate compromise on immigration, which was derailed by the nativist nuts in Congress. I think the bad economy has made this issue less pressing, though I would hope Obama keeps the moderate course on this issue.
4. Elevating and backing Gen. Patreaus, one of the most brilliant generals of his generation, one who sees clearer than most what warfare will be over the next generation or two. Just because the general was doing his job and duty in an unpopular theater does not make him some puppet, as the naive and often uninformed folks at Move On would have it.

That said, good riddance to Bush. If only you had become commissioner of baseball instead of president .... yeah, baseball would be even more fucked up, but that's less worrisome than what you did to the country.

Can I post the lyrics to "Bobby Brown" by Frank Zappa? Cause that's what Bush makes me think of...
Thank you America, for giving us Barack: http://fiturl.com/0jN
