PHOTOS: Ted Leo at Av-aerie

Ted Leo is kind of a god. Has anyone else noticed that? With or without his Pharmacists, the man is possessed of a showmanship that's rarely matched in any galaxy of the musical universe. Then again, take a deep catalog of some fine post-punk pop songwriting, an affable stage presence and that instantly recognizable howl and you might just have the epitome of cool.

But we guess that's obvious - after all, Ted Leo's been wearing skinny jeans since the 90's.

Great show. Not too crowded. Cheap booze. My kind of evening.

Stealth,
If you like cheap booze may I suggest a New Year's Eve at the Dank-Haus where you will find:

Feigling Shots $2
Champagne Bottles - $10-$20
1 litre imports $10
1/2 litre imports $5
Wine $4
Pretzel $2
Landjager $3

That is some pretty impressively cheaply priced booze :)

oh..and you will also be able to listen to live polka music.

Is that a parachute? Looks like the background was actually pretty cool.

Ingrid...

dang, that's my kinda party. Well, maybe not the polka stuff, although after a few feigling shots...

The Dank Haus is on Western near Lawrence, right?

Mich...

Yes, that was a parachute. Pretty cool place. Well, except for all those stairs... an interesting trip after a few of those $2 beers and $3 mixed drinks.

Ingrid: Great place. Friendly people, young and old, and reasonably-priced German beer. When it is warm, they let you on the balcony way up high, which offers a great view. I haven't been there in a while, but I can't wait to go back. Yes, on Western just south of Lawrence.
