There's no joy in Mudville, or wherever the hell Tankboy's DJ'ing this evening. MillerCoors has reached an agreement with the city of San Francisco and 13 Attorneys General including Lisa Madigan to remove caffeine, ginseng, guarana and taurine from its Sparks energy drink. MillerCoors is also paying $550,000 to cover the cost of the investigation into Sparks and whether it was targeting young drinkers.
This means that, with the removal of those ingredients, all you're basically left with is Zima. [Tribune]

Ugh, Sparks was/is vile. I tried one once and didn't know WHAT it was trying to be. And that nasty residual foam... it looked like the crap that washes up on the beach.
Stealth...try it again now that all the gunk has been taken out.
You'll probably enjoy the Zima that is left!!
:)
The one time I drank Sparks it reminded me of malt liquor mixed with orange cough syrup.
I had a bunch of these at Pitchforl Music Festival this past year and was looking forward to a bunch more this coming year. Damn damn damn.
It has been a bad year for Zima, alas:

Stealth - I agree. the stuff is vile. it also left a nice residue of orange/brown gunk on people's mouths and tongues, which in a way looked like dookie.
I am deeply saddened by this news...
booooo! Fuck teenagers. I drink these to stay out all night cause I'm old and can no longer do so on my own!
I didn't know Miller/Coors was behind this. Look Mr. MillerCoors, drop all of the other crap beverages you've been pushing and stick with the ONE beer you make that WORKS...
Miller High Life.
Seacrest out...
