Ok. I'm going to trade in the $3.99 bottle of Gewürtzaminer I bought at Trader Joe's yesterday for a bottle of rum and try this.

I've had a chill in my body all day that I can't get rid of and this looks tasty and warm and cozy.

Good Lord! After a few months of Chicagoist, Binny's is becoming a weekly expedition!

*blush* Rob is right.

Though, to be honest...the first one was to test the recipe. The second one...well, I don't have an excuse. The damn things are just tasty.

The alcohol does not burn off. Laura can vouch for that: just ask her about the nap she had to take after testing the recipe.

Looks phenomenal.

You haven't had any problems with the boiling water killing the alcohol in the rum? I was under the impression that the boil point for booze was way lower than water, which is why you cook things like mulled wine at a lower heat than you'd think you'd need.

I've been looking for some good hot drinks for this winter. This one is a winner. I'll probably cut the proportions in half, though. I don't see myself needing a pound of the stuff.
