That would explain a lot, Tower 18, because somehow I couldn't see that sort of irrational planning getting past the CTA committee. Let's hope that's the explanation.

If I recall, the length of canopies were cut as a casualty of the budget overages...but I remember reading that they're coming in under that larger budget, and some longer canopies may be re-installed. At least I think I read that.

The idea for the position of the heat laps isn't a bad one...on the Fullerton stop the walls protect you from the wind, but yeah, it's too small.

The lack of roof on the station is my big beef. It does RAIN here, you know. Were these architects from out of town or something?

Weren't there more heat lamps before the renovation? I swear I remember at least two sets at Fullerton and Belmont.

The heated areas are about half the size they used to be, too.

Other than improved handicapped access, I feel like the renovations created more problems than they solved.

Not only are most of the platforms at Belmont and Fullerton without roofs, but the part that is covered has the stairways and other obstructions and not much room for people to actually stand.

Couple that with the use of wood in portions of the platforms at those locations and the use of wood as the only decking material at other recently remodeled stations and we have yet another example of the near incompetence of the people in charge.

Brilliant, indeed.

Rob Christopher, have you been to the Fullerton stop? For some reason, when it was "completed" is didn't have a roof over most of it. I'd like to know whose brilliant idea that was.

My question is, why does most of the Belmont platform not have a roof over it? Will that be installed later?
