After reading Karl's fantastic interview with the brains behind Cinematic Titanic, the spawn of the geniuses behind Mystery Science Theater 3000, we dug back into the Google Video archives and started watching some of our favorite episodes from the original show. And, luckily, one of our favorites is also a seasonal flick: Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, one of the movies the Cinematic crew tackled during last week's run at the Lakeshore Theater. And from that episode comes this classic clip of the crew singing Crow's new holiday song, "Let's Have A Patrick Swayze Christmas," our gift to you. And like the best Christmas mornings, there's even a teeny surprise after the jump.
Okay, so maybe it's not that much of a surprise, but if you're like us and still stuck at the office, or maybe you're already on holiday and the weather and family have you bored to death, here is that entire MST3K episode for your enjoyment.

Extra, Extra

The Cinematic Titanic version of Santa Claus Conquers the Martians is available for sale at their website, and features entirely different jokes from the MST3k version.
That's a pretty bad movie if you can generate two completely different sets of funny from that same source.
i don't remember the exact context of it all, but my friend, jeff, and i still quote crow when you get something that really sucks but you aren't supposed to be shitty about it and just have to be polite ... "thanks for the pants."
i think it's from a christmas special when tom servo gets some great remote controlled race car or something and crow just gets ... a pair of khaki pants. he says all dejectedly: "thanks for the pants."
it's a keeper line.
And of course, "I wanna decide who lives and who dies" is still the best response to "What do you want for Christmas?"
true
or you can save some $$ and wait till the 16th and see the new Notorious film..I saw a screening the other day and it was incredible...the soundtrack is amazing as well!
