Icy Conditions Causing Travel Delays

In case you're out and about this morning, here are some delays to be aware of due to the weather:

  • The CTA has shut down service of the Purple Line between Howard and the Loop. For now, the Purple Line is only operating between Linden and Howard. All other rail lines are experiencing minor delays due to icy conditions and every bus line is experiencing significant delays. Check out more specifics here.

  • Metra trains are also experiencing heavy delays, mainly on the Union Pacific Northwest Line, with delays ranging up to almost two hours.

  • Portions of the Indiana Toll Road and Interstate 65 remain closed due to icing. Some segments have reopened but authorities say it's a matter of the ice melting before all roads are officially reopened.
