So we know these videos are old, but they still make us laugh, especially when we need it. And this week, we needed the laugh around the Chicagoist office. This ad campaign, by Virginia's Trigon Blue Cross/Blue Shield, hits just the right combination of cute and funny for our tastes. Our favorite is below and there are two more after the jump.

Stroger Makes Hollywood Play

I love the last line "He was injured. Injured real bad."
I also like the tags for this one. Virtual high five.
I didn't know you were allowed to say 'penis' on television in Virginia.
The most brilliant marketing campaign for an insurance company? As any Chicagoan knows, it must be Eagle Man.

I was recently fortunate enough to meet the mastermind behind these ads, Bob Ebel. His specialty is working with kids, and he gets these great performances by hiding the camera and just talking to them. Pretty much every shoot he does ends up with the kids asking, "When are we going to film the commercial?" It's a brilliant technique that results in natural, hilarious commercials like these.

I was wondering how they could get these shots. I figured there was no way they were just writing scripts for the kids to read. Thanks for the insight, Dave.
