It's already starting to pile up out there; traffic has been snarled and over 150 flights have been delayed or canceled at O'Hare so far. Throughout the day, 2 to 4 inches will fall and an additional 2 to 4 inches falls tonight. Highs today will be around 30 with light winds and tonight, lows will drop to the low 20s. But today's weather will be downright pleasant compared to next week's brutal cold.

Ugh. It was awful out there. And the best/worst part was when I got here, FINALLY, and my boss told me I could go back home if I wanted to.
I drove all that way and slid around and stressed and no I am not getting back on the road yet!
If I were you, I'd go now while there is a lull in the snow because it's supposed to start back up again this afternoon.
I'm so winter weary at this point.
Thanks, Ingrid. I've been watching the radar and my plan is to leave about 1:30, when there should still be a lull in the ugh.
My husband and I are also quite winter-weary, or at least snow weary. This is ludicrous.
... and I'm home in my slippers sipping coffee. Ah! being a remote worker doesn't suck so bad on a day like today.
