Blago Gets His Fingers Dirty, Clams Up, Reveals Debt

2009_01_21_blago_yearbook.jpg While yesterday was a day of celebration, Rod Blagojevich wasn't among them. Governor Sound Byte was busy getting fingerprinted again. The reason: federal authorities didn't like the quality of his first set of prints.

Guess that answers Michael Sneed's question about whether Blagojevich might try to uncomfortably work his way to Washington and participate in the Inauguration festivities like a fart in church.

He also didn't respond to a 4 p.m. deadline to answer to his impeachment charges, which state senators assumed just means "not guilty" when his trial begins Monday. Although, with Bagojevich, one never knows. Attorney Sheldon Sorosky isn't even sure that his client will even participate in the process.

Finally, the Governor disclosed his legal fees in a campaign report filed yesterday. It showed that he owes $750,000 to the firm of Winston & Strawn, a half-million dollars to lead defense attorney Ed Genson and another $100 to Sorosky.
