Thanks, Chris. I transcribed that interview directly off the tape I made - word for word. Often when you read a direct quote from what a politician says, it doesn't make as much sense as what you heard them say. People seem to talk differently than they write.

There's a misquote near the end of the article. You quote PQ as saying "I believe we need campaign finance reform, and the practice of contractors being able to give campaign money to politicians who issue contracts to them." That should instead read "I believe we need campaign finance reform, [WE NEED TO END] the practice of contractors being able to give campaign money to politicians who issue contracts to them."

PQ's reference to Theodore Roosevelt is interesting. Roosevelt ended up being one of our greatest presidents, but the political party leaders of his day considered TR's positions too progressive, attempted to portray TR as a lunatic, and then got rid of him by sticking him in a useless, dead-end job: the vice presdidency. If it hadn't been for President McKinley's unfortunate demise thrusting TR into presidency, TR would never have had the opportunity to push through the progressive, people-power policies that improved the state of the American people and led to TR's landslide victory in the next election.

Let's do whatever possible to support PQ so he can push through the progressive policies that will improve our state.
