B. So we are both in agreement that she was an important person in his life. Which further drives home the case that he should have been on the first flight home. I was stating that that she was MORE than a fling, meaning her and her two children, his two children, were three very imporant people involved in a single tragedy that should not have delayed coming home for a single second. A. I was being smart assy. Not everyone wants to be a parent, but you can't unring a bell, and when it happens you have to be the adult you were raised to be and are expected to be. Sidenote-If the child support was court ordered, that's usually a sign he didn't want to pay, or didn't want to pay as much. There is no court order if you are willing and able to hold up your end of the bargain.

My point is that A) that first sentence didn't make much sense (Not everyone wants to be born? how is this known?) so I was hoping you'd clarify, and B) to point out that "flings" don't usually consist of the mother of two of your children and child support payments. That's kinda important to this story. Read Kaonashi's post.

Sadly, it's a bit more salacious than that; Eddie Curry was and is a married man. This woman was his mistress for years (resulting in the two children). Methinks there was more than a little bit of lying going on in the Curry Household...

Yeah well, not everyone wants to be born either. Really? i can see people saying they wish they were never born but people have said they don't want to be born, in utero I'm guessing? A woman that he produced both children with, meaning she was a little more than a fling, is dead as well. Well, TWO kids, one three and one 10 months indicating almost four years of involvement, AND he's paying child support... that sounds like a lot more than a fling. They obviously has some kind of on-going relationship. Not traditional mommy and daddy stuff, obviously, but some kind of deal that involved way more than a fling.

The bottom line is, both of these are his children, and one of them is dead. A woman that he produced both children with, meaning she was a little more than a fling, is dead as well. And the one that survived all of this has witnessed something most people in a civilized society have never witnessed, nor should ever witness, let alone at 3 years old. I don't know if you have ever lost anyone close, but nothing else matters when it happens. All he's showing is that he still has a lot of growing up to do, and that his priorities in life are more F'd up than this situation at hand is. Any one of those factors above would be enough for 99% of people to be on the first flight home.

That is what I meant - thank you for the explanation. It's worth pointing out, however, that his son was in his grandmother's care. Who knows if prior to this he WAS involved, or wanted to be. Not everyone wants to be a parent, which does not itself prevent the possibility that it happens. He's going to take care of the kid now, probably with help from family. I also think judgment in this situation should be reserved for those that killed the woman and child and for the government entitities that can't be bothered with better sollutions to this kind of situation.

Why did it take so long for the news that this was his daughter to come out? Did anyone else get the impression that the baby girl was some other man's child, perhaps the guy who killed her? Something is hinky here...

If you mean VE's point, Curry wasn't exactly prompt in coming back to town to be with his son who witnessed the murder. He was notified of the murders Saturday but didn't make it back here until Tuesday, from what's being reported. Granted, this isn't his wife or anything, but with him poised to take custody of his son, it was expected he might have made a quicker return.
