I think it annoyed Dave too. When he sat at his desk after his monologue, he asked "Why is this guy here?" in the most sincere tone I've ever seen him use.

While I appreciate Letterman's willingness to call him guilty to his face, it annoys me to no end that producers everywhere are clamoring to put this boob on the air in the first place.
