Terry - Go. Have fun. I'll tell you one thing though, I have NO problem shelling out MY precious cash for a show even if I am not reviewing it if it is an artist I really like or really want to see. I 'll have you know that I work hard on the music features and reviews I do, and I got into it because its something I'm passionate about. And I do it for FREE. I do not get paid. Occasional admission to shows is worth it to me for working my ass off on articles and interviews, especially when I'm doing it in addition to my full time job. If youre so passionate about it, then start applying to write and stop complaining.

I'm not stupid enough to need you to tell me what kind of show I should attend. Who the hell do you think you are telling me that you're the one who should decide what's worth my precious dough or not? Your arrogance is beyond comprehension. You've already revealed your predisposed opinion about these musicians, and since we already know that you don't like their music, why would we need you to confirm what we already know? And I hope that you don't get your usual press passes for a show which you probably wouldn't go to even if it was free. I hope your usual seats are taken by those of us who actually want to be there. And tell your buddy Marcus to stay home that night as well. We don't need either of you there. We already know why we'll be there.

I'd love to go to this show, hell I grew up on LI, we're programmed to love Billy Joel. I think I remember my dad going to one of these shows over a decade ago in London. Just non-pretentious fun music.

isnt the point of a critic that we go to a lot of shows, so we know which shows are worth you shelling out your precious dough for? And in fact for a show like this, we probably wouldn't even get press passes. I know for myself, and I'm sure what Marcus is saying too, is that even if we could go for free, we probably wouldn't.

Of course you "won't be shelling out dough for this". Because unlike the rest of us non-'press credential' fans, you bums NEVER pay for tickets. You get complimentary tickets from promoters, publicists and record companies. You don't even have to wait in a line. You just pick them up at the box office on the night of the show. Then you saunter into your reserved seats and scribble your sarcastic notes while the musicians try to entertain those of us who actually like their music. Then you run off and write your bitchy little reviews. Golly, I wonder what kind of review gothamist will give THIS show....? Keep your snotty editorial comments to yourself and just give us lowly music fans the news about who's playing where and when. We don't care who you like or not.
