Having been to Tokyo last year I can assure you Chicago is in the dark ages of public transportation. See http://subway.umka.org/map-tokyo.html for a better idea. As much as I love Chicago, by virtue of transportation infrastructure alone Chicago shouldn't beat out Tokyo.

Don't you worry. The global Obama lovefest will ensure you get to watch the Olympics from your front yard. There is already a trip to Europe planned for various meetings, and it just happens to be real close to selection time. Rio is a fine choice, but they'll have their hands full with the 2014 World Cup.

I'm not sure how you can argue that the CTA/Metra cover a lot of ground. It might not always be functioning properly, but Chicago has an extensive transportation system.

I think Rio is going to get it. They have wanted it FOREVER and it's only fair that south american gets a chance at the games. Besides hot Brazilian babes are the television equivilent of selling crack to viewers. Those...butts!
