While that idea looks good on paper (or screen) Scooter, I would highly doubt she has the intelligence. I think her old man will kill the guy in a fit of rage. She'll get a book deal while at the same time have her kids taken away from her. In a fit of depression she will blow all the book money at the Empress and then, and only then, will she disappear.

Soon, dictionaries will be changing their definition of bimbo to include her photo. In a truly sick way, I hope she does disappear! Then Drew is finally up Shit Creek without a paddle! I wonder if that's her idea, a stupid plan, live with the creep, keep breaking up with him & then disappear on her own, making everyone think he did it.

She pulled herself into this mess of her own free will and agreed to every TV interview that came her way. She's fair game. Write as many critical/analytical columns as you want. Be as hard on her as you want. She wants to be part of "the game", so be it. No sympathy. Well, I don't want to see her dead, but other than that...

The Manson story still fascinates me. Especially when you consider how frightening the whole thing seemed to people back then and you look at the Manson group now and they're just so old and pathetic. Last I heard, one of the 'girls' was dying of cancer, had limbs amputated and in hospice and she STILL didn't get out when appealing to the probation board.

You know, I think this is similar to the OJ case actually in a lot of ways. Like, he probably did it but with no body and a smattering of hearsay evidence, wouldn't it seem like a miscarriage of justice to actually convict him on the evidence before us? Sometimes, cases come along, like OJ, where, if he had been convicted, justice would have prevailed. When he was found 'not guilty', justice also prevailed.

Marcus: Cool. As I said, I was just curious. Ingrid: That's not what I meant. I mean of all the problems in the world, all the death and murder and what not, I don't care about Drew, as I don't know him, don't live near him, know none of his alleged victims, and fail to see how this case affects my life. Enough people are emotionally invested in this case that I doubt my absence will be noticed. This case, no matter what happens, is merely a tabloid sideshow to those of us with no personal stake in the issue. Therefore, I don't really care (do a care a tiny bit? Of course. Who can turn away from a highway accident?)

I see what you're saying and all...I don't care about this guy either, but it gets to me in a big way that he's a cop who knew what he was doing and he got away with multiple murders. No problem. Actually, this was not meant to draw traffic. I highly doubt it will draw much at all. We've been just as guilty as every other news organization of giving this woman air time and I suppose while I may not care or have the same level of compassion as some others, I find that I do have an emotional reaction to her and her appearing on so many television shows and mugging for the camera. Is this self-indulgent? Sure, a little. Was I trying to be a bit more creative in my commentary than our usual style of posting? Yes. Will it succeed or fail? Who knows, but that's on me and as the person who wrote and posted it, that's my criticism to take. But the motivation for it was an actual emotional reaction to her and the situation.

This woman does not deserve compassion. Hitching her wagon to a man who is, at very least, a creep and at most a murderer? She is an adult, not a child. Add to that her love of the attention, because why other than love would you keep seeking out interviews and chats with the ever-hungry media? This is not an abused wife trying desperately to escape some thug (like some of Mr. Peterson's previous spouses) or some teenager trying to get away from an abusive parent. As for being "unattractive", I'd say that has more to do with her presentation and grasping at the winnowing straws of fame than her appearance.

Maybe I'm being naive, but what is she doing? I think she's really immature...she sounds like she had the mental capacity of an immature 12 year old, so how can a 12 year old know what she's doing? I don't know...maybe I'm being a bleeding heart, but I feel sorry for her. Him I have nothing but disdain for, however.

Marcus, please don't take this the wrong way, because it is meant as an honest question: Do you actually care about this woman, about her situation, or do you merely like to comment on the situation, including in a manner that allows you to show off your writing (I say this because the post was entertaining)? As for me, I don't care about this woman, nor Drew, nor really about the issue at all, so I have no axe to grind. I'm just curious about what motivates some of the commentary in various forums. And I don't think it is evil to try to generate site traffic or anything, if that indeed a motivation (Drew-related posts always seem to get multiple comments).
