I was reading about the surveillance cameras on the Sun Times site after I saw it on Drudge Report.
Just when you think we've reached the highest, highest levels of ludicrousness in Chicago for one thing or another, something eclipses that. To think that money will be WASTED - flat out wasted - by installing more of these cameras in safe parts of town where they will do nothing is just irresponsible and laughable.
We don't need cameras, we don't need SUVs - we need MANPOWER, plain and simple. More officers patrolling, more officers able to respond to problems, more officers able to target high-crime areas. I'm not telling any of you anything you don't already know, but geez this city is just becoming a complete joke.
