I guess it'd be okay if the generational theft was meant to fund a war.

I mean, Ward, I know you've often said in this space you were no fan of Bush, but where was the fiscal outrage then? Why get excited now, all of a sudden, when the waste was just as bad then?

Meanwhile, those of us who believe Obama is doing exactly what we elected him to do—that is, getting money moving back into a broad range of public and private sectors in order to a) stimulate the economy, b) spur job growth, and c) lay the groundwork for our nation to be a 21st century leader—will be cheering him on.

Sorry for this long comment, but Chicagoist, neither you nor the Chicago papers have covered the nationwide movement to oppose the Generational Theft being perpetrated in Washington.

That's right. There is a growing movement around the country to oppose the multi-trillion dollars of various wasteful, harmful bailouts.

The waste can stil be influenced, including that headed for the financial, mortgage, and health care sectors. These bailouts will PROLONG the recession, not shorten it.

Anyway, for any of you who oppose the Porkulus Package, and want to pressure the media and government officials to--at least--limit the damage, look at the information below for the Chicago version of the Nationwide Tea Party.

The Chicago event, as shown below, will take place tomorrow, beginning at Daley Plaza and including a walk to the Michigan Avenue Bridge to dump the Stimulus Tea in the Chicago River. Those of you who believe in fiscal conservatism, please come and enjoy the event!
