Leonard Cohen Playing Chicago! Presale Begins Tomorrow

2009_02_leonard_cohen.jpg There is nothing we could say that's more awesome than the facts: The legendary Leonard Cohen is touring for the first time in 15 years, and he will be telling his incomparable stories for one night only in Chicago this spring. If the reviews are to be believed, this will be one incredible night of music and tale telling.

Cohen has spent the last five years in a monastery in the hills above LA, enjoying peaceful reflection on his life and career while his former business manager was stealing his life savings. Bad for Cohen, good for us - his financial situation was partially responsible for his decision to hit the road. Regardless of the impetus, we're incredibly excited about the chance to see this icon in person.

Leonard Cohen plays the Chicago Theatre, 175 N State, May 5, 8:00 p.m., $55.50-$253

Presale tickets available here from Friday, 2/27 at 10:00 a.m. to Saturday, 2/28 at 10:00 p.m.

I can't believe you had the gall to post about this! I didn't want anyone else to know about Leonard Cohen coming to town until AFTER I'd bought my tickets. Now I'll never get one. Aargh.

Apparently you need a promotional password to buy a ticket even at 10am? If that's the case, mention the presale at all?

(Prior to 10am, you had to be an American Express customer to buy a ticket)

Password was in the Chicago Theatre link. However it appears to not be working.

Try it, worked for me.

Does anyone else think this will be heavy on synth and played slow? I'm imagining a lot of the classics, but played as if they were competing for a spot on Arise, Therefore.

Leonard Cohen is Tom Waits without metaphor.
