Bacon has been big amongst our own circle since, oh, 1972, so we were a bit mystified that the MSM suddenly thought it was some sort of hipster fad. What do tyou think, is bacon really done for?

Bacon as a fashion statement is done for, absolutely. I hardly ever notice trends, and I noticed the bacon one, so that means it went way overboard.

Bacon as a food will NEVER be done for. That's like asking if chocolate is done for. Not as long as people have tastebuds.

this post caught my attention as I share your enduring love of bacon, but I have to be a bitch and call you out on your sentence structure:

"bacon has been big amongst our own circle since, oh, 1972, so we've always been a bit mystified that the MSM suddenly thought it was some sort of hipster fad."

how is it that the collective chicagoist brain, as signified by the use of we, has always been mystified by this recent revelation?

always and suddenly seem to be mutually exclusive in this context.

just sayin.

I've heard that when human beings are burned to a crisp, they smell like bacon. I also know for a fact that pig heart valves are transfered into human beings because we are so genetically similar. Face it, humans are pigs. Only a narcissistic race such as ours would enjoy bacon so much. I do enjoy watching people eat bacon though.

I don't wanna say I was just a little ahead of the bacon backlash, but...yeah, okay, maybe I was.

There was a trend? How can bacon be a trend? It's just food. I've eaten it all my life. Does that make me trendy? Am I now suddenly so last year when I didn't even know I was last year when last year was this year?

I missed this completely.
