It's a sad day to be a voyeur in Chicago. Cook County sheriff Tom Dart will be holding a press conference later today to announce that the department is suing Craigslist for its sex ads, calling it "the largest source of prostitution in the United States." There have been several arrests of people on prostitution charges after posting salacious ads, even in such hotbeds of lust and sin as ... Omaha. Last November, Craigslist agreed to crack down on the practice. They better not touch Missed Connections.

I still don't get why prostitution is illegal. Don't they have real crime to fight?
How about arresting some Bank Presidents and CEO's who have basically stolen the US Treasury and destroyed our country? How about arresting the former administration who it's been explained broke hundreds of laws and committed treason numerous times during the last 8 years? I guess that's hoping for too much.

Looks like Tom Dart wanted to be in the news today in the worst way.
Just like the idiots at the Chicago Election Board a few years ago that sued a website for trying to buy people's votes.
Now how am I going satisfy my bored, single mom, bbw who needs to make rent fix?
i really like craigslist. but there's some ads on there that i don't quite understand how people aren't going to jail every day. or maybe they are, and i just am naive about it all.
is it entrapment to put up an ad talking about 420 or 'skiing' and then busting anyone who answers your ad? cause the amount of ads i have seen that talk about that stuff are mindboggling. back when i first really found out about craigslist and would actually take time to read various categories ranging from personals to the ones where people just yell at each other inanely (rants and raves, i guess?), i was mystified at how people wouldn't get busted for all their calls for drugs and stuff.
i'm not saying i'm up for people getting arrested for drugs, but for the way people seem to be arrested for drugs in this country, i can't see why the cops wouldn't just sit and pick people off for their blatant attempts to score via craigslist.
Doesn't Tom Dart have real crime to fight? Taxpayers should be outraged at this absolute waste of money. This has been tried before by other sheriffs and has not been successful. Craigslist isn't the only source of "prostitution" ads. Dart is a total idiot.
