First Lady's Former Prom Date Declares He was Screw-Up

David Upchurch, who now lives in Colorado Springs, took First Lady Michelle Obama to their high school prom is now saying their romance went nowhere because he was a “screw-up, plain and simple.”

The two attended the Whitney M. Young High School Prom in 1982, seven years before she met her future husband Barack Obama.

Upchurch, a customer service representative, is now a divorced father of three. Upchurch told the Enquirer:

Michelle knew what she wanted, and after graduation she was off to Princeton. I wished the best for Michelle because she's always been a wonderful person. [UPI]
