That place is awesome. Used to go there to fill up before heading around the corner to catch some live punk at Club Stodola. There was another Greek place across the street from there where the parking garage is now. I used to attend a stamp club meeting there when I was a kid. I also remember seeing the Son of Svengoolie at some event at the old Will Rogers theater on Belmont. And I also bought my first guitar at Biasco music when I was 14. Ah, Memories.

Curse you and this restaurant review. Now I'm going to have to go this weekend.
This has food just as good as any restaurant in Greektown. The dolmades are just right.
When I was in Vegas a few years back, Mike North was doing his show from the sports book at Caesar's. When the show was over we went to talk to him. We mentioned where we lived and he asked, "How close is that to Central Gyros?"

I second your review, Chuck. Good food, fast & friendly service, reasonable prices and free parking across the street. Central Gyros serves up great Greek food without the hassle and long waits of Greektown. This place is great - I'm getting hungry looking at the pictures!
