What Not To Do If You Get In A Fight At School: Post It On YouTube

Three Proviso East High School sophomores are the latest in a growing group of dumbass teens students lacking good judgment: they're in hot water over getting into a fight and posting it on YouTube. From the Sun-Times:

Two are charged with felony aggravated battery and felony mob action, while the third, who admitted filming the incident, is charged with mob action. The charges were filed Tuesday.

The fight happened Feb. 19 in the cafeteria of the school at 807 S. First Ave. in unincorporated Maywood about 12:40 p.m., the release said. In the video, one offender is seen walking up behind the victim, a 16-year-old sophomore, grabbing her and slamming her down on a lunch table.

In case you're wondering if this was some kind of gang-related incident, you're wrong. According to what the attacker told the police, she went after the other girl "because she just didn’t like her." Well that makes perfect sense. Clearly, the camera-wielding teen does not take any film classes: the video is jittery in a Blair Witch kind of way and the angle is sideways for a good portion but there's enough there to get the gist of it.

Girl fights are MEEEEEEAAAAANNNN.

Most fights I saw in high school guys just pushed at each other and tussled. Girls go for the hair, the throat, the eyes.

Maybe they can video blog from prison.

Why is this still up on Youtube if they got in trouble from the police over posting it?

I know someone who taught at Proviso for a couple of years..it was enough to make her quit teaching and go into another field all together. It's pretty brutal there.

So if they're dumbasses for posting it, what are you for re-posting it? Just asking.

Because I won't go to jail for posting it.

Ah, I see what you were getting at now - the stupidity is in getting themselves caught. I misunderstood your meaning - my apologies.
But still, I can't really see anything but prurient interest in this. Maybe you've made the decision that you're fine with the ethics of it...or maybe it's not a concern, and you're just a free-market kinda guy. I'm curious what editorial process goes into these choices, if you'd care to elaborate.

Seriously, can we start having real conversations about
a shift in our society to where having children is not a natural right? But like say, driving a car is a Privilege
that has to be earned? I mean we are all in this fish bowl togther and I'm getting mighty tired of this sh*t! and its bigger than Proviso East, but yea Ingy, I've got contacts in that "school" who also call it a modern day concentration camp. Shame on us for putting up with this.
