Trump Spire Continues To Elongate Erection Time

No, it's not an architectural version of Viagra - it's just that the Trump Tower still ain't done yet. Remember a few months ago when helicopters buzzed around the top of the Trump, lowering Spirework into place and making the collective necks of Chicago stare up at it til' it was done? Yeah, we thought it was finished too. Guess not - Blair Kamen reports on the Tribune's Skyline Blog that it's still at least 2 weeks away from completion, depending on the weather.
Here's the answer on the spire that I got Wednesday in an email from Andrew Weiss of the Trump Organization: "There have been some issues that have slowed down the completion, the biggest of which has been very cold and/or windy weather that made it impossible to work out there. Even yesterday with 70 degrees the winds up there made it impossible to work. We expect that with good weather it should be completed in the next two weeks."
Since it's almost done, we thought we'd take a look back at some of the construction process, as well as some of our favorite shots of Chicago's newest chunk of skyline.
