Man Tosses Fake Grenade at Police

Well, this is one way to get the police off your tail: during a chase yesterday morning in the Roseland neighborhood, a man through what turned out to be a fake grenade at a police officer. The officer was responding to a report of a man with a gun and when he approached the suspect, the suspect fled on foot and tossed the grenade. Members of the Chicago Fire Department and the police Bomb & Arson Section were called to investigate and determined the grenade was a fake. A gun wasn't found on the suspect, but police still questioned the man about the grenade. [WBBM]
