As reported here and here, the full list of Lollapalooza 2009 headliners has been revealed. In addition to the Beastie Boys, Jane's Addiction, and Depeche Mode, the anchor stages at either end of Grant Park will also feature The Killers and Tool. Lou Reed, the Decemberists, Neko Case, and Andrew Bird have also been tipped to participate.
Reaction to the headliners was mixed even before Brandon Flowers, et al and those well-off mood rockers in Tool were added to the bill, so what's the verdict now? Does the list of Lolla's big dogs read like a bizarro world No Alternative compilation, or is it something you can get behind and support?

I'm moving out of Chicago this summer to work back on the east coast. Honestly, when August rolls around I don't see myself going "I really wish I could have stayed in Chicago one more summer to see Lolla this year."
It's hard to top last year though.
These headliners are like the headliners they would have back in the day of the original Lolla (circa 1992).
I see you are very passionate about this.
Wow.
In the sense that in a way I feel like this is pretty lackluster.
I just wonder if these bands are sufficient to make someone wish they had not moved from Chicago.
Hard to completely call until the rest of the performers are announced, but seems pretty weak compared to Bonaroo and Coachella this year.
The fact that the Killers are headlining both Lolla and Coachella just blows my mind. Does anyone even like their new album?? Haven't seen the Killers since the first return of Lolla to Chicago (nor have I really wanted to), but I remember them being pretty horrible live. Brandon Flowers seems to be a pretentious ass that just can't back up the talk.
It would be hard to justify $300 based on what I know so far.
There's going to be one more headliner and it will be an electronic act.
could the other headliner be justice?
I hope not. I love Justice, but that would just underscore the fact that they owe Daft Punk their career.
Agreed with you on that. Still holding out for Blur.
ME TOO!
that would almost, almost, almost make me want to go. where else could i finally see Blur and Tool at the same show?
If we all just channel our hopes and dreams on Blur, I think it will happen people! CMON!
