Second (Bedroom) City

student+buildings.jpg High school art teacher Edra Soto worked with her students to create a cardboard city of skyscrapers that reflects both the students' personalities as well as the styles and forms created by the world's leading architects.

The results, titled Lesson Plan, are on display at Second Bedroom Project Space in Bridgeport, arranged in a futuristic cityscape that will have you daydreaming about the Jetsons, or planning a trip to Brasilia. Though tightly packed together at one end of the gallery space, the buildings complement each other while maintaining their separate "identities." Overhead, paper streamers in green, orange and yellow form a rainbow that meets in a clump of color and cardboard clouds at the other end of the room. Lesson Plan runs through April 10; 3216 S. Morgan, Apt. 4R; visits by appointment.
