The Reader says Hideout owner / MC / vox populi Tim Tuten has secured a job with Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. Pete Margasak reports that, "among his responsibilities will be coordinating events and school visits for Duncan."

Considering Tuten may have worked more tirelessly than anyone else in Chicago -- or the Midwest -- to get Obama elected, this posting seems rather fitting. And don't worry kids, he's not abandoning us. While Tuten will be getting an apartment in D.C., he'll be back in Chicago frequently, so we should still get regular doses of verbal acrobatics and inventive band introductions.

We're very excited for Tim and wish him the best out East!
