Chicago Board Game Gets Makeover

Late for the Sky, a Cincinnati-based board game company, is giving its Chicago-centric board game, "Chicago-in-a-box," a makeover and is rechristening the game the not-quite-trademark-infringing "Chicago-opoly." Company spokeswoman Carla Miller said, “We are actually in the process of revising the Chicago-In-A-Box game. It will now be called Chicago-opoly...Chicago-opoly was created with the help of Chicago natives,” she said. “We asked Chicagoans ‘What makes this place so great?’ While it’s impossible to include everything, Chicago-opoly hits the highlights.”

The game closely mirrors the very popular board game "Monopoly" but substitutes Chicago-centric landmarks. For example, Boardwalk and Park Place have become the Water Tower and the Gold Coast. And what of the iconic Sears Tower getting a new name? Miller told the S-T via email, “Thanks for the new info and feedback. I'll pass it on and see what the decision-makers want to do." Yeah, we wouldn't bother changing it either. And where's the TIF square? [Sun-Times via Beachwood]

Is there a square or card that says "Corruption tax -- pay 300 dollars?"

What, no "Go To Jail" space? How ironic...

They should have a pic of Ryan on the Jail space.

"Buy off Alderman"
"Give gift to inspector"

Regular streets as Railroads? Couldn't they use The "L", CTA Bus, Taxi, and Metra?

And in lieu of the traffic jam "jail" square, they should use the governor's mansion!
