Here are this week's listings for you to peruse while we remember the succulence of Trader Vic's beef cho-chos (say that three times fast):

  • Today and Saturday: David Burke's Primehouse is celebrating their third anniversary by giving customers who order the $62, 55-day dry aged ribeye a complimentary glass of wine — sommelier's choice — and a slice of their signature dessert. The "Slice of Prime" is a layered slice of Good God made with chocolate mousse, cake, fudge, and topped with s'mores ice cream. (616 N. Rush St.)
  • Saturday: Kleiner restaurants are doing a lot of cooking classes these days. Case in point; Opera is hosting a dumpling demonstration tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. Learn the history of dumplings and how to make them from opera's Erica Fischer. For showing up early to do this samples, coffee tea and mimosas are included as part of the $25 fee (1301 S. Wabash, 312-461-0161)
  • Saturday: In conjunction with Theatre Mir and DCA Storefront Theater's production of "the Arab-Israeli Cookbook", which winds up its run this weekend, the Department of Cultural Affairs' World Kitchen Series presents a special cooking class intended to bring some of the play's recipes to the home kitchen. The class is open to folks 16 and up, costs $30, and starts at noon. Tickets are available by calling 312-742-8497 or at the DCA theater website. (Gallery 37 Center for the Arts, 66 E. Randolph)
  • Sunday: Yeah, we've drunk the Publican Kool-Aid. So what? The featured brewery for their beer dinner this Sunday is Two Brothers. Included in the pairings is their hot new Red Eye Coffee Porter. the cost of the dinner is $55. (845 W. Fulton Market, 312-733-9555)
  • Monday: Cooking livestock snout-to-tail is still in fashion. Eve (840 N. Wabash, 312-266-3383) is throwing a whole-cow dinner at 7;30 p.m. Cost is $65; wine pairings are an additional $25.
  • Tuesday: Heaven on Seven (600 N. Michigan, 312-224-8858) is having a 7-course wine dinner. 10-12 wines will be paired with the dishes, and selections will be available for sale and later home delivery.
  • Wednesday: Passover begins on this day. What's Cooking? (6181 N. Lincoln, 773-583-3050) is serving meals for carry-out or to dine in priced at $25.50 for adults and $12.95 for children.
