There was nothing high end about Ethel's. It was unremarkable and targeted towards people who think that Hershey's is good stuff. Hello, I'm claimtofame, and I'm a chocolate snob.

Huh. CBS News (with Katie Couric) ran a story just yesterday about how candy companies, even high-end shops, are doing remarkably well in this recession. I guess CBS news only considers Manhattan in their view of the world. Still, few seem surprised by this. I guess the chocolate was not that good.

Not shocked but I thought candy sales were still strong. So surprised might be fitting. I did notice that the gelato store in Roscoe Village has paper all over the windows. Not a good sign.
