Chicagoist: Aldermen Call for Hearings on Parking Meters

Call me cynical, but: A) This hearing will do nothing, and Moore said as much, B) Aldermen don't usually care when their constituents raise holy hell, so I wonder if: C) The private parking meter corporation has been bitching that the aldermen won't get their kickbacks if they don't put a stop to the citywide vandalizing of parking meters. Easy solution? A useless hearing! They say "We wuz wrong, but shucks, now it's too late." And all those pesky voters/parkers will feel satisfied.

If anything it just goes to show that they aren't working for their constituents until they raise holy hell about something.

Great. I'm glad they decided to read this parking meter proposal carefully before they sign off on it and Daley turns control over to some private company and ... Huh?...What?... They did? ... Already?... But they why are they...?....Yeah, but what's the point of...? Oh, nevermind.
