Sox Call Up Podsednik

According to reports, former White Sox outfielder Scott Podsednik will be rejoining the club's major league roster after being called up from Triple-A Charlotte on Friday. Apparently, he's already on his way to meet up with the Sox, but the team will not be announcing any roster moves on their off day.
The move comes after Brian Anderson -- who had been filling in for Dewayne Wise since Wise separated his shoulder in mid-April -- was injured on Wednesday. That left the Sox with Jerry Owens as the lone healthy centerfielder on their roster. Waived by the Sox earlier this spring before acceping a minor league assignment, he was seen leaving the clubhouse after Wednesday's game with all of his gear.
Pods had been without a team since being cut by the Colorado Rockies at the end of Spring Training. Few were sold on either Wise or Anderson even before the injuries, so perhaps Podsednik will become more than just an injury fill-in. Can the speedster regain the magic he displayed in 2005 and help the Sox solidify their most glaring weakness? Or will he simply add to the logjam of mediocre players trying to fill that hole?
Podsednik was a hero on 2005's World Series team, but when his numbers declined in '06 and he struggled through injuries in '07, the Sox decided to go in another direction when rounding out their outfield for '08 and spent last season with the Rockies.
