Rev. Jesse Jackson is the subject of a $100,000 lawsuit that accuses him of backing out of a 2007 speech in Trinidad. According to the Associated Press [via the Tribune]:

American Entertainment International, Inc., based in Massachusetts, filed the lawsuit earlier this week in Cook County Circuit Court.

The lawsuit claims Jackson backed out of a Nov. 3, 2007, speech, which caused a loss of almost $100,000. The suit alleges Jackson didn't attend because he didn't want to show favoritism toward a Trinidadian political party.

Jackson's attorney Paul Langer tells The Associated Press that Jackson "categorically denies the allegations" and intends to fight the lawsuit.
