US Cellular Field went to the dogs last night. Literally. It was Dog Day at the stadium and there was even a parade around the field before the Twins and Sox faced off. We don't envy the grounds crew's clean-up job. Fortunately for us, Chicagoist reader/Flickr pool contributor/South Side photographer Avi Schwab, who shared with us his awesome shots of that Westboro Bapt. protest at the University of Chicago in March, was on hand and got some fantastic shots. (And in case you're wondering, the Chicagoist Intern wasn't present as he's a Cubs fan.)

Intern looks like he's got a cigar hanging out of his mouth :)
I love that chihuahua with the striped baseball shirt...too adorable.
Seriously, though, how mean is it to take a dog someplace where people are throwing hundreds of balls, and the dogs can't do a damned thing about it? I can imagine the jerks on leashes with every pitch.
