Yesterday's announcement by the California Supreme Court that they would upheld Prop 8 had many gay rights supporters upset, even here in Chicago. Over 600 supporters showed up in spite of the rain for a rally held in front of the Center on Halsted.

Whenever I see these I can't help but think of Demetri Martin "It's weird how one group of people took refracted light. That's very greedy, gays."
There was a rally Thur outside the Thompson Center, anti-gay marriage on one side, pro on the other.
I have to say, 2 things disappointed me on the anti side:
1) Including your young children in the protest. Using your children as propoganda simply ain't cool. How about we protect the sanctity of good parenting, eh?
2) The addition of pro-life signs in there? I get the economy is tight and maybe you wanted to save on your signs denying people rights to their bodies and sexual preferences, but technically a same sex couple can't naturally reproduce, and odds are if they are reproducing, its through wanting a child. They are the least likely to be candidates for abortion.
