We can't believe it's already here, but TOMORROW is our anniversary party at The Whistler! Grammar and The Interiors have been putting in long hours at the practice space to kick out some outstanding musical sets, and Chicagoist DJs Pocket Taco, SuperBird, and Tankboy have been diligently working at holding one headphone over their ears while simultaneously bobbing their heads. Prepare yourself for terrific music all night long.
But wait, there's more!
There'll be drink specials and giveaways, and mixed drink mastermind Paul McGee is crafting a special drink to commemorate the event. Can you say YUM?
We're gonna warn you ahead of time that The Whistler is an awesome but cozy space, so we urge you to get there early to make sure you can stake out your spot and enjoy everything we have planned for you that evening.

I''ll be the guy not wearing any pants!
Many posters on this blog often decry the evils of gentrification, going on and on about displacement of working families, closing of businesses, the fact the new residents are all transplants (despite being transplants themselves), etc.... An interesting argument, even if I do not totally agree.
Will any of these people be at Whistler for the party? And, will they choke on their own hypocrisy for being at a trendy bar with overpriced drinks in a neighborhood rapidly becoming Lincoln/Wicker Park? Makes me wish I still lived on Sawyer Street so I could walk over and find out.
Or, for one night - just one night - we could let these things go, suspend these arguments, and just hang out and have some $2 PBRs and just have fun. Shoot the shit, listen to the music, and not worry about gentrification, hipsters, the evils of corporations...just a few beers and some fun. What say you, ST? Care to join me?
