It seems former governor Rod Blagojevich's federal trial might get underway come April 2010. At a status hearing this morning, U.S. District Judge James Zagel said he prefers for the trial to start by next April and by July 2010 at the latest. Zagel also floated the idea of an anonymous jury. Blagojevich defense attorney Sam Adam Jr. said, "If that's what the judge orders I'll be ready."

Meanwhile, Blago's wife Patti is getting ready for a trial of her own: the reality show "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Outta Here," begins tonight. She's even launched her own site which is absolutely ridonkulous. [Tribune, Sun-Times]

Her website. Wow. Just wow.
Those two have lost every nano-shred of dignity they once might have possessed. It's surreal...one day she's the governor's wife, having lunches with the ladies and the next she's trading bon mots with Heidi and Spencer and making an idiot out of herself thrshing down a river in Costa Rica.
If I were that woman, I think I would have to swallow the whole bottle of xanax she uses to just to make it through each day, and end it all. Right here and now.
Sheesh. Just unbelievable.

But hey! Spencer would have voted for Rod for president! So Patti's living the dream!
