The Girls' Guide To Rocking ... The Movie!

Local rock critic and sometime-bass player / band member Jessica Hopper has released her first book The Girls' Guide To Rocking. It's a comprehensive and straightforward guide that covers everything you ever wanted to know about being in a band.

Looking for inspiration to write a song? Never seen a four-track recorder before? Have no idea why that talent buyer isn't returning your calls? Need advice on stage presence? It's all there. In fact there is some info in the book that could probably benefit bands that have been knocking around for a while since much of the matter-of-fact Hopper offers is the sort of thing that flies over the noggins of even some seasoned pros. (And here's a secret, we think boys would benefit hugely from reading the book too.)

See some of Hopper's advice in action in the video below featuring Hopper, Monika Bukowska of Brilliant Pebbles, Kevin Drew of Broken Social Scene, and Heart Shaped Hate.

Ther is no I in BAIND

The only thing that would've pushed this over the top of hipsterdom would be the removal of those brakes and freewheel.
